Holy to Jews, Christians and Muslims, Jerusalem’s Old City is one of the world’s foremost pilgrimage destinations. A repository of sacred buildings and relics, it is a place where the descriptor ‘living history’ really does apply – here you can walk in the footsteps of prophets, pray in buildings constructed by order of caliphs and kings, and overnight in hospices where Crusaders and cardinals have slumbered. The soundtrack is of church bells, the muezzin’s call and the shofar (ram’s horn), and the streets smell of everything from church incense to the heady aromas of the spice souq (market). It is a sensory and spiritual experience unlike any other.
Rome / Vatican City
The Vatican City is a popular destination for tourists, especially Christians wishing to see the Pope or practice their faith. Pilgrims will most often visit the Vatican City at special moments in the liturgical year, such as Christmas or Easter, or during important periods such as the proclamation of a holy year or the funeral and election of a pope. Being the centre of the Roman Catholic faith, the Vatican houses some of the most beautiful masterpieces of art in places such as the Sistine Chapel.

Ephesus (Turkey)
For many generations Christians, or those who simply have an interest in Church history and traditions, have travelled to the western part of Turkey, which was known as Asia Minor in the biblical times. The area is known for the 7 churches of the Book of Revelation. Apostle Paul travelled to the area several times. Near Ephesus, there is a house where Mary, the mother of Jesus, is said to have spent her last years. Ephesus and the surrounding areas had a history of spiritual awakening and revival.
